I use Wanium when the project brief is vague on day one (“maybe a shop… maybe a portfolio… maybe a landing”), but I still need a consistent design system and predictable WordPress behavior. It’s a multi-concept theme, so the value is not one perfect homepage — it’s the library of ready-made layout patterns you can remix fast.

Design-wise it leans elegant and calm. Not the loud “look at my animations” type. That’s good: fewer moving parts means fewer front-end surprises once you start caching and minifying.

How it’s built (and where your changes actually live)

Under the hood it behaves like a standard premium WP theme:

  • Templates live in /wp-content/themes/wanium/ and follow the normal WP template hierarchy (page templates, single, archive, etc.).
  • Theme settings are handled from the WP admin (theme panel / options) + Customizer for the usual visual bits. Most toggles end up stored in wp_options (database), while structural changes (templates, hooks) stay in PHP.
  • WooCommerce support typically means a /woocommerce/ folder inside the theme. That folder overrides plugin templates, so if something looks “wrong” after a Woo update, I check there first.
  • Assets (CSS/JS) are enqueued via wp_enqueue_style() / wp_enqueue_script() with theme-specific handles. When performance plugins start rewriting assets, those handles are what I exclude first (more on that below).

What’s comfortably editable:

  • colors/typography/header behavior in the theme options/Customizer,
  • menus in Appearance → Menus,
  • widget areas in Appearance → Widgets (or Site Editor areas, depending on setup),
  • page content in the builder/editor the theme ships with.

What I don’t edit directly anymore:

  • parent theme PHP templates. Parent updates overwrite them. I use a child theme for overrides (even small ones).

Where it usually breaks (real conflicts) + fastest fixes

Wanium itself is stable; most “theme problems” are actually plugin-side optimizers doing aggressive things.

1) WooCommerce variations or quick view stops working
Root cause: JS delay/defer/minify breaks Woo’s variation script chain.

  • Fix I apply first: in your optimization plugin exclude these from delay/defer/minify:
    • wc-add-to-cart-variation
    • wc-single-product
    • jquery-core (don’t delay it)
  • What I check: DevTools → Console for $ is not a function or variation-related errors; Network for blocked/combined JS.

2) Header/mega menu feels “dead” on mobile (no click / stuck overlay)
Root cause: minified combined JS changes execution order; theme’s navigation script expects DOM ready + jQuery in a specific sequence.

  • Fix: exclude the theme’s main script handle(s) from “Delay JS” (usually the main theme / main / navigation bundle).
  • Quick confirmation: DevTools → Network: disable cache, reload, then toggle optimization off — if menu returns instantly, it’s execution order, not CSS.

3) Layout shifts after enabling cache (fonts/icons missing, spacing off)
Root cause: CSS delivery changes (critical CSS, async CSS) + icon font preload removed.

  • Fix: turn off “Remove unused CSS” for a test page, or add theme icon/font CSS file to safelist.
  • Check: DevTools → Network → Font and Console for 404 on font files.

If you’re editing Woo templates: don’t “patch” in place. Copy the required template into a child theme’s /woocommerce/ and only change the minimum. Keeps diff small and updates manageable.

Activation / GPL / updates (what I saw in practice)

I tested Wanium in a fully working, activated state (installed and checked personally).

Plain behavior:

  • It runs without a license key: the theme loads and front-end works.
  • What you typically lose without activation: one-click demo import access (sometimes), bundled premium plugin updates via the theme channel, and vendor support.
  • Updates manually: upload the new theme .zip via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload, or replace via FTP.
Parent theme updates overwrite parent files → if you’ve edited anything in /wanium/ directly, it will be lost. Use a child theme for edits.

Manually Update WordPress Theme Guide
You can find detailed instructions on how to update a theme or plugin on this page.

FAQs (pain points I actually get asked)

Not safely. Put changes into a child theme (or a small custom plugin) first, then update the parent.

Theme Woo overrides. Check /wanium/woocommerce/ for older templates; update/adjust them in a child theme if needed.

Usually server limits. I fix it by increasing PHP memory/time limits, then re-run the importer. If your host blocks loopback requests, import also stalls.

Yes, but exclude Woo scripts (wc-add-to-cart-variationwc-cart-fragments) and don’t delay jquery-core. That’s where most “random” breakage comes from.

Before you send us a support request, take a quick look at our Terms Of Use and FAQs. We know nobody loves reading them, but very often the answer is already there and saves you some time.

What to do first

  1. If that doesn’t help, check the product documentation next.
A lot of small issues come from missed settings or simple setup steps, and the docs usually clear that up pretty fast.
  2. Still not working?
No problem — just open a support ticket and tell us what’s going on. We’ll take it from there.
  3. When to expect a reply
We usually get back to you within 1–2 business days. Sometimes faster, depending on the issue.

How to explain the problem (this really helps)

  • Be specific
Instead of saying “it doesn’t work,” tell us what exactly is going wrong. Which button? Which feature? What were you trying to do when it happened?
  • Add screenshots
Screenshots make a huge difference. Seriously. A simple image (or link to one) helps us understand the issue right away and saves a lot of back‑and‑forth.

Following these steps helps us help you faster — and with fewer questions along the way. Thanks for making support easier for everyone.

Answers to common questions!

You can use any product from our store on as many websites as you like.

After purchasing a product, you’ll be able to download it — including the most recent version — for the next 72 hours. Once that period ends, you can either repurchase the product or switch to one of our membership plans.

With an active membership, updates are always included. You’ll have continuous access to the latest versions for as long as your membership remains active, without worrying about expiration dates.

Yes, we do. In most cases, you can expect a reply within 24–72 business hours. For simpler issues, we’re often able to respond much sooner.

You can contact us via live chat or open a support ticket directly from the product page — whichever is more convenient for you.

No, there are no limits. We don’t believe in restricting downloads. If you need to download a product multiple times, that’s absolutely fine.

We use professional, high‑performance storage systems to ensure downloads are fast, stable, and hassle‑free.

No, license keys are not included. In the past, license sharing and related issues caused account problems, so we decided to stop distributing keys.

That said, all products you receive are fully authentic. For items that normally require activation, we provide them pre‑activated, allowing you to install and use them immediately without dealing with license input or activation errors.

Yes — 100%. All products are original and distributed under the GNU GPL v2/v3 license.

The main difference compared to purchasing directly from the original author is that we don’t offer additional services such as custom development or one‑on‑one support. License keys are also not included. Instead, products that typically require activation are delivered ready to use, allowing installation on unlimited websites.

Yes, we stand behind our products. If you encounter an issue that cannot be resolved or a technical problem without a workable solution, we’ll do our best to help — and if necessary, issue a full refund.

Please note that refunds are not available if the product works as described but simply does not meet personal expectations. We’ve also encountered cases where refund requests were made while the product was still in use, which we cannot allow.

Our approach is simple: fairness and transparency. If you ever have a concern, just reach out — we’re always open to finding a reasonable solution that works for both sides.
