What it actually changes under the hood
It does not override templates. The plugin works through WP hooks like wp_enqueue_scripts, script_loader_tag, wp_head, Heartbeat, embeds, and REST-related toggles. Most settings live in WP Admin → Perfmatters and are stored in the DB, not in PHP files. Per-page unloads come from Script Manager, which uses the bundled MU plugin so rules fire early and reliably.
